Overheating issue

I replaced thermostat filled the coolant stopped
over heating as bad still overheating pretty bad
and smokeing

Does the "smoke" smell sweet? If it does, then it's most likely a blown head gasket or cracker cylinder head. 1 of the celebacies of the V8 Dodge gas engines is that the heads are prone to cracking between the valve seats, second, check the oil cap and see if it's got a coating of what's best described as "baby poop". Third, check the oil level for increased oil. Oil riding on top of antifreeze n the crankcase.
