Can the bed from a 97 ram 1500 single cab short wheel base, be replaced with one from the exact same model from a year model 2000

Boy, that is a good question. I would think it would. They didn't change the body style until 2002.
Thats what I was thinking, I need a replacement, and found one from a 2000 thats the exact same(paint and all) just wanted to make sure before I spent the money
Very cool! Even the same paint color that's a lucky find. I would use a tape measure juuuust to make sure before you buy it. LOL
yes, the beds are the same from 1994 to 2001 on the 1500's and through 2002 on the 2500 and 3500 models.

Well the transmission from a 1995 Dodge ram 1500 long bed fit a 1999 Dodge ram 1500 short bed
