Cheapest way? Go find a 98' 4x4 and enjoy it. Even with a donor vehicle, gonna get $$.

sell your 2wd and get a 4wd

the 2wd frame isnt as strong as the 4x4 one either

The answers above might sound sarcastic but they're actually right on. You could find a rolled over 4x4 and set your body and even engine on the donor frame. You would also need to transfer the electronics, instrument cluster and PCM from the wreck as well. Depending on mechanical or electronic engagement you would also have to cut the floor for the transfer case shifter. Big project! Good Luck!

I disagree about frame strength completely. theyre identical frames, ive done it once before, you need the front axle drive shaft and suspension components, as well as to be a decent welder. you need a 4x4 transfer case drive shaft and the output shaft from a 44re with 4 wheel drive. other than that all you need is $$

best way to go is find a cheap 4x4 with a blown engine and swap, or trade yours for a 4x4, ive looked into doing this myself, and it is way more work than is worth it. that being said, if its a second vehicle, and you want a project, it can and has been done.

Yes I look into all the above questions and answers and they all sound okay to me so guess I had to go on get me a 4x4 transmission
