1998 5.2 liter

I rebuilt sons engine it is a 5.2 (318) bore .030 over
flat top pistons block is decked .005 clearance.
Stock head gasket & shimmed rocker assembly
.030 to garentee no issues. Used stock steel heads
and multiport injection. The problem is truck still
has no better performance than before. Help

Likely an engine management controls issue not a hardware problem what where the DTC codes when it was running poorly? what are they currently? Do the long term and short term fuel trims look good?
