If you are talking about the engine light will not come on the best way to check is to turn the ignition on and watch to see if the dash illuminates the check engine light. If this light comes on then the problem is not triggering a fault in the computer. If it does not come for a second when you turn the ignition then your problem is that the bulb has probably been taken out by someone trying to hide a problem with the vehicle.
