1998 Dodge Ram 1500 need help

Asked by RMG Jun 08, 2011 at 06:06 PM about the 1998 Dodge RAM 1500 ST Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a situation where while driving the engine just cuts off entirely no sputtering just shuts off. I have replaced the pickup coil, ignition coil, all tune up parts and spent hundreds for diagnosis with no code or results. It doesn't run rough no check engine no codes any ideas?

my 96 did the same thing some times if i had just been simply driving down the road and then came to a stop at a stoplight/sign the truck would just shut off, i only owned the truck one year and it did it maybe 3 times so i never looked into the problem, im assuming your problem is more frequent? if so maybe check your cap and rotor on the distributor
