Need help with my truck won't stay on

Need some help figuring out whats going on with my truck.
I have a 98 ram 1500 5.2 the cat failed on my cause loss of
power and I ordered a new one and replaced it. I started the
truck and now it will not stay on unless I keep my foot on
the gas. Any help?

It sounds like you idle air control system is not working properly. try cleaning you throttle body and you idle air control passages. then use scanner and reset all of your adaptives.
