2001 Suburban Captains seat fold down mechanism

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The operating mechanism for my Captians chairs (second row) have never really worked.  I've always had to work the levers by hand.  The operating cables/handles never worked properly and Chevy declined to fix.  Now I can only operate the mechanism to fold the seat with brute force.  Are their any instructions to repair the machanisms?  Any fixes.

Should have done this tens years ago...I removed all the trim pieces. On close inspection the shaft that the lever mechanism is screwed to also holds a sprocket. The gears on this sprocket did not engage. After aligning the gears I was able to hammer the two pieces into proper position. Works now.
