Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 1999 Dodge Ram with the 5.2 magnum with 110k and it developed a
problem of the rpms bogging down, a backfire and then completely shuts off
I've spent a good amount of money trying to figure this problem out and was
hoping someone here has the answer

Check fuel pressure and connecting plugs to the ecm mounted on leftt hand fender wall as you open the hood

Had a 1999 ram 1500. When the Catalytic Converter failed had the same symptoms. Once it failed the truck would go to 4000 RPMs but not go over 35 MPH..

When my 99 1500’s carlytic Converter went it started doing this before it failed completely. When it failed inwouod get high RPMs and only get 35 mph put of it.
