1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Electrical Issue

Asked by Amateur_23232 Oct 16, 2018 at 10:56 PM about the 1999 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie SLT LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 has an issue that I cannot diagnose with any
information that I try to find online.  My left turn signal blinks rapidly, but it is
not a faulty bulb.  The left turn signal also comes on solid without blinking
when I turn on my headlights.  The turn signal while on solid when the lights
are on, is not on in the front or the rear outside the cab, and it also will blink
when I turn the indicator on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ed92626 it is not a faulty bulb. I bought two new bulbs and replaced the old ones just to be safe, and the problem is still happening. Also, it the front left turn signal is staying on and solid even when the truck is off and all lights are switched off. Do you think it could be a faulty relay, or would it be a short? Is there any way to tell?

No mechanic, but could be the column switch. My mechanic is replacing my switch hopefully this weekend, and said it was likely causing my tail light, and 2 different blinkers to not work.
