Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The rod that controls the secondary hood latch has come undone. I can't get the hood open to fix it. Any clever ideas out there? I'm stumped.

You tube videos gave me a better idea of what I was working with and I was able to get my hood open. Thanks for unstumping my brain.
