Question type: General

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 and have recently purchases a travel trailer.  I was wondering how to turn overdrive off so I can do a better job climbing and descending inclines while pulling the trailer.  I believed it was the button on the end of the gear selector but I don't see any light coming on when I press this and I don't notice any change in how the truck operates either.  Any help in getting this figured out would be appreciated.
