I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500. When I get it up to 3500 RPMs it doesn't want to shift and check engine light flashes. Does anyone know why this does that. Thank you

Change the filter and fluid and add a quart of lucas transmission treatment. Drive it 500 miles and do it again. I have had this problem on 2 different dodge trucks and this fixed them.
