2001 Dodge Ram. 5.9 liters. Magnum, Laramie. Transmission won't shift speeds 2nd and 3rd.

My transmission only works on 1st. gear, it doesn't want to shift to 2nd and 3rd. normally,
but only when I turn off the truck and turn it on again it shifts as far as 2nd. gear and
when I came to a completely stop with out turn off the truck and than I keep on going, it
doesn't want to shift to 2nd gear any more.. and reverse works fine. please help.!!

Well I'm sorry I do not have any answers for u... but I myself am having basically the same kind of issue in hand.. so if u manage to figure out what it is that's faulty or broken or messed up that's causing the tranny not to just shift upwards out of 2 into 3 out of 3 into 4 and all please let me in on any secrets that u come across please amd thank you
