do all replacement pumps have outside fuel strainers. I have a new fuel pump for my 2001 dodge ram 1500 without a strainer
Some come without sock,has to be purchased separate.
Supplier said it's a new design with a flat bottom no hookup for strainer. Should I return it and buy one like my old one.

I would not install with out sock filter,and yes try to get the original.
This is how it should be filter sock at bottom.
