Yup - what Tennisshoes said. The computer handles everything. What kind of concern has you looking at the Voltage Regulator?

Alternator replaced, now battery gauge on dash is reading at max, it fried my battery. I bought a new battery, same reading. Removed new alternator and took back to Napa where they tested it and said it was good, and was most likely the voltage regulator?!
