2001 dodge ram 1500. chk engine light. Says engine cold too long. Been to three diferent mechanics. noone can fix. replaced themostat and heat sensor. I put an after market tranny cooler on then the problem started. Engine will not start in cold weather below 45f.

perhaps your NEW Intake Air Temperature sensor was damaged during installation...these things are kinda delicate, y'know....I suggest you buy another one of these and give 'er a whirl~

This is where a good scan too will come in handy. You should read the codes and monitor the readings you're getting from the inputs. Don't just swap parts - that's an expensive guessing game.
