Replacing my rear end axl

Asked by Terry Sep 05, 2018 at 09:18 PM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500 ST Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Best way to find out the gear ratio of my truck the
rear end went out in it and the tags are gone from
the pumpkin period. I pulled the plate off but it's
seized up so I can't turn axle to count the teeth

Take a look at the front axel and see if there's a ratio tag there. Front and rear axel ratios have to match.

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 would the rear end off of a 2007 Didge Ram 1500 match up?
