replaced the EGR valve and the engine light did not go off, i had an auto parts store tell me to disconnectthe battery for 10 min then connect back. the engine light went off. did this reset the code? 2 Answers

My 2005 Dodge Ram 4.7 is having trouble starting, it usually takes 3 attemps until it turns over. I suspected that it may be the check valve on the sending unit but I can find the part in online autopart stores which leads me to believe that it doesn't have one.
