My 02 ram 1500 with 94,000 miles has developed a thump in the transmission when going up hills and is now doing it on flat ground. Checked fluid it is full and the right color. Doesn't do it all the time but is getting more frequent? Any ideas what is wrong?

had that issue on a 98 GMC Sonoma. turned out to be the mass airflow sensor. not the transmission at all.

Did any of your warning lights come on when you had the air flow issue? non of my indicator lights came on. Sometimes the truck just shuts off with no warning or light but will start right back up. It hasn't shut off lately just this thumping.
