2002 ram 46re rebuilt and will not move any.

Asked by Bustedram Jul 09, 2018 at 09:03 PM about the 2002 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Plus Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just rebuilt my 46re and when I started it
the flex plate or torque converter had a
constant slight metal wearing sound and
the truck will not go into any gear. It shifts
but will not pull. I don't want to pull this
thing out again. Anyone have a idea of
what may be causing the problem.

When reinstalling a torque converter you must turn it and lightly push in until it locks and drops in 3 times to get it fully engaged, I'm not sure if you can accomplish that without separating the motor and trans but heres to hoping!
