Try pulling up on the brake pedal. Also try unplugging the brake pedal switch. If lights then go out replace the switch.

Try changing all of the bulbs. Especially the one on the cab. I just went through this with the exact same truck. I took the fuse box relay center out and tested all the wires, nothing. I replaced the brake switch, nothing. I took my dash apart to get behind my display panel, nothing. When I replaced the bulb on my cab the brake lights finally turned off. You can try all of these trouble shooting ideas but deffinately try the simplest first.

It might just be the brake pedal switch. It is a plunger type switch mounted about half way up the pedal itself under the steering column. It can be removed by rotating it counterclockwise about 30 degrees. The plunger has several notches internally so the length can be adjusted in about 1/16th inch increments. It's tough and it feels like you are breaking the switch but try pulling the plunger out. You can play with it until it makes contact with the pedal when installed and releases when the pedal is depressed. I just figured this out on my 2012 Ram 1500

2017 Ram, brake lights and cargo light wouldn’t go off several months ago. Changed the bulb on the cargo light. Problem solved. Last week, same thing. Lights wouldn’t go off again. Changed the same bulb and they stayed on. Checked the brake itself and that wasn’t a problem. Changed the fuse for the brakes and now they are going off. Hopefully this works for awhile.

I have found a possible fix. I removed the brakelight switch, I gently removed the dirt, and cleaned the pins on the switch both male and female . Also I cleaned the the pins from the from the pig tail line. This has seemed to be a solution.

I have a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 and I installed a led 3rd brake light. My question is, when driving at night is the 3rd brake light supposed to be on just like regular 3rd brake light.

I went through all the posted fixes with no luck then it dawned on me to remove my trailer brake controller and that fixed the issue. seems like the return spring in the brake controller broke causing the brake light to stay on. so If you pull a trailer and have a trailer brake controller disconnect it first.
