2007 dodge rm 1500 5.7 Brake and abs lights came on. I changed the rear abs/wheel
speed sensor and battery. Problem continues. Sometimes the lights go out when truck is
cool and come back on within a few miles driving.

Thanks. Part store read the code as rear wheel sensor. I changed it twice in case I got a bad part. Brake fluid level good.
Thanks for the heads up. Turned out to be a bad connection in the rear abs/speed sensor wire that was hidden under the fender well.

My 2006 dodge ram 1500 4.7 does the same .Brake and abs light comes on and off. Between 40 to 65 mph i feel a rough rumble and then ,it goes off at 70.Any idea on whats that?
Is there more AbS sencers than on on a 2000 Dodge 1500 pickup?
The number of sensors depends on type of ABS your vehicle has. My 2007 Ram1500 has 2. 1 rear center of pumpkin and 1 front drivers. This is a 4 wheel drive with 2 wheel rear antilock braking. Took about 2 months to get dealers to look at actual ABS pump to verify. Run VIN. and look for manufacturing specs. If under brakes you see 4wrral then rear only 2 sensor. If you see 4wal then 3 to 4 depending on build. Easiest to look at pump. 1 in 2 out..2 wheel. 1 to 2 in and 3 to 4 out 4 wheel. Next actually look for wire running with brake line at each wheel. On my truck the factory had actually installed a sensor in front passenger hub but cut off wire at sensor. This just to plug hole. Got my thinking all messed up. Run vin. Look for free vin check affiliated with the state or fed gov. Gives more detail for free than other sites. Else take vin to a dealer. Ask for manufacturing build sheet.

Check your rear differential for metal shaving. Pull off the cover and look for metal shavings on the built-in magnet at the bottom of the differential. These shavings will effect the speed sensor in the differential because it operates on magnetic pulses and therefore metal shavings will be attracted to the sensor causing the.abs, brake light to come on and the speed-o-meter to stop working intermittently. The metal shavings would be from the clutch pack retaining clips or aka C clip and also damaged bearings. The bearings in the differential can be damaged from the C clips metal shavings. It is very difficult usually to clean out all of the metal shavings on your first or even second try. I recommend taking your truck into a professional for this repair. The longer you operate the truck in this condition the more internal damage you will cause therefore costing more in repairs later.
I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 TRX4. I have replaced both ABS sensors in the front wheels, on the transmission and rear differential. Unfortunately my ABS and Parking Brake lights still come on. Sometimes very briefly and then sometimes for 5 to 10 minutes. My speedometer works just fine. I've had my alignment checked, wheels balanced and rotated and it doesn't matter whether it is warm or cold for the lights/dinging to happen. Any Suggestions?
I have the same problem. Very random. Happens sometimes when parked. Speedometer works fine.
1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Brake lights sometimes stay on after shutting down vehicle and I have to jiggle the brake pedal to get them to turn off. Sometimes the lights come back on and kill my battery even after jiggling the pedal and checking to ensure they've turned off. Also, the ABS and red "BRAKE" dash lights come on intermittently.... I've not been able to identify a pattern for them.... It seems pretty random. Ideas where I should start?
I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 SLT quad cab 4x4 5.2 ltr. Each day i start it up the ABS and the Brake light are both on. I replaced the rear speed sensor on the differential and it went out fo a few months but is back on again. If i drive it for 20 mi utes or so and then let it sit for at least 20 minutes then start it back up the lights go out and will stay off the rest of the day until i restart it again the next day and lights stay on again. Im stumped. I looked at each wheel and couldnt see and sensors in the wheels. Where are they located and what could be causing this?
Laszlo can you please explain how you know its the ABS control module?
Hello. I also have a 2005 1500 5.7 hemi and my abs & check engine light came on and the truck is very hard to get going? Almost like the brakes are on? also a lot of other electrical problems. I changed out the multi-switch(for blinkers, wipers and headlights) as these were effected as well when the light was on. It seemed to work for about a year. It recently happened again, so I replaced that switch again. This time it only lasted a week? What else could be shorting out? Maybe the sensors? I’m going to start there next, but I’m open to suggestions or any questions... thanks
