Why does the ABS, Brake and Check Engine light all stay on and the Speedometer doesn't register till 25 mph.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
This is a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT, 5.9 engine. The ABS, Brake and Check Engine
light all stay on and the speedometer doesn't register till you get around 25mph and also
drops out when approaching a stop. All was fine until I shifted from 2 wheel to 4 wheel
and also fueled up. The check engine code was P0138, O2 sensor down stream. Any
suggestions?

Could be an unreliable ground...trace the black battery cable to where it attaches to the chassis/frame disconnect and wirebrush the lug and chassis clean and re-attach it...this action will reset the codes...with any luck~

you changed the defecive 02 sensor down the exhaust pipe...yes~ you should be okay then~

hate to suggest this, just try a "global reset" if it fails pick up another ECM---your speedo troubles and dash complications should vanish...if the reset ain't doin' it~

After replacing the battery because of age, I am seeing this same condition. I will check ground wires and reset. Any other suggestions?
I have the same issue with my 1999 Ram 1500 5.2L. ABS & Brake light stay on but it's sporadic. Check engine light goes on and off from time to time. Both puzzled me for awhile. Codes were saying O2 sensors and Cat. But then the abs issue came up and the speedometer would stop working sometimes. Came across a few videos on YouTube that say it's a either a bad abs sensor on top of the differential or there's metal shavings in the gear oil causing it to not read properly. Changed the senor and drained the diff.
