how much tranny fluid to do i need to refill my ram 1500 truck?

it is a 2004 ram 1500 3.7L 2wd. I don't know how to drain the torque converter
so I Just drained the tranny from the pan and removed the screw in type filter
only. No manual came with it,. Just need to know how many quarts it takes
roughly. how much to fill with the torque converter out of curiosity. thanks

If you just are doing a drain and fill, 4.7 quarts roughly, so pick up 5 or 6 qts. That is without opening the TC. Oh, and you really should replace the other filter while you have it parts and go easy on Torquing the pan bolts down, you only need to snug them up, like 7 ft lbs.
