Things should be tested before you replace parts you don't need , similar relays can be swapped to check a suspected bad one , scan for codes even if the light ain't on , The clerk at auto zoo sells parts and is not a technician They also may not be reliable for testing batts and alts for the same reason .

I have 2006 1500 mega cab hemi, it also would present the little red light only- everything else dead. It does this from time to time and what I do is: Disconnect battery: ( 15 minutes minimum) and Pull out fuse #11 ( resets security system). After 15 minutes or more reinstall fuse- connect negative post on battery, then positive. You only get one chance to start it quickly give it a lot of gas and turn it over. If it starts, all is well until the next episode. If it fails you must repeat entire process.
