2004 dodge ram 1500 5.7 cranks but won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 5.7l hemi.  It was having a
problem with leaking coolant causing it to run high temps.
I had a friend that was a mechanic look at it.  He filled it up
with coolant and said try driving it and we'll go from there.
I had my son take it to work later that day.  He ran it out of
gas on the interstate he ran it till it shut off and coasted
off the highway.  I came and brought him gas and the
coolant leaked out on the side of the road after it stopped
no drips before just a pool if it where the truck was.  Then
we tried to start it but the battery seemed dead gave it a
jump and would only crank not start.  Truck has a quarter
tank of gas you can hear the fuel pump and we bleeded
the fuel rail by releasing the pressure from it.  Inside the air
box was some oil build up.  All the fuses and relays were
good oil was good.  Just wondering what else it could be
thats stopping it from starting.

Ignoring the coolant leak momentarily, pull spark plugs 1 at a time and touch it to manifold/ground. Have someone crank engine and watch for spark
