5.7 hemi

I have a 2004 5.7 hemi. We went thru
high water and drowned out due to
water in the air box and into the
cylinders. Now it will only crank over
half way then motor locks. You can
turn it by hand backwards but locks up
going clockwise.

Did you take out he spark plug to relieve the possibility of water being on top of the pistons before trying to crank so you do not bend a rod or worse?
