05' 5.7 hemi overheating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
recently replaced thermostat radiator and water pump. in a matter of seconds the heat started to rise. in result I had to pull over open my rad. cap to release some of the heat and to add some water to get home. What could be some possibilities of what is truly wrong ? the jug stays full and I noticed before replacing the parts mentioned that the radiator would go empty quick.. including the fact I just changed the water pump

Try purging air out of the system.
Could you possibly run me steps to preform that ? I’m a little unfamiliar with some methods and terminology
Better off, if it still draining after I purge the air, what else could possibly be the damage...?
The water pump cannot move an air pocket in the system. Backyard way to purge it is to make sure radiator and bottle are topped off, then run engine around 2k RPMs in park, with your heat blowing full vent so u can feel it blowing hot air (if it blows luke warm/cool while the gauge says motor hot you have an air pocket trapped in your heater core) Once you heat up to op temp (needle near middle) idle to normal and verify your cooling fan is turning on. If all good, shut down, go have a beer or 3 till radiator cools enough to open the cap. Verify full/top off if needed. Go drive it and verify stays needle in middle. (There's no way you could have put the thermostat in backwards is it? Had to ask)

You can run the engine with the cap off to purge any air. Warm up the engine to operating temp first before expecting a "purge" to happen. Try squeezing the upper radiator hose while doing this. Also, it's possible the t'stat is in backwards?!?

If your sure you put the t'stat in correctly, the you might also consider the distinct possibility of a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder head. This would explain the rapid rise in coolant temp.
it will probably be your water pump but some times its a radiator hose

Hoses are full and ,hot water pump replaced, thermostat been changed from the 203 down to the lower no.. Radiator flused.new cluch fan in,! And still gets hot!
I don't loose coolant and have also replaced those parts as well and no smoke out of tail pipe, no coolant in oil or on dip stick and i have the same issue
