Custom exhaust, what should I do.

Asked by Micah Aug 15, 2016 at 08:14 AM about the 2005 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 4x4 crew cab.
Looking to do my own exhaust. Took off the stock
system. Running straight pipe right now. Sounds
good, but, I wanna make it louder and keep that
nice rich deep tone. Looking to see what y'all
suggest for a muffler, pipe size, and maybe a
glasspack to run. I'm running just a single pipe
right now. Want to run a side dump in front of the
passenger and driver side rear tires. Let me know
what complications y'all have run into with
everything from air flow, fuel mixture and power.
What kind if tuning I may need to do after installing
it. Also the truck is completely stock. Would greatly
appreciate the advice and opinions. Thanks.

My opinion is put some kind of muffler back on and be considerate of the people around you that have to listen to that loud crap.
