Asked by GuruZJQSY Dec 11, 2017 at 03:27 PM about the 2005 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Heater was not warming up. I replaced the thermostat, still no heat.  I then
flushed the system. Heater is now warming, however, my temperature gauge is
fluctuating constantly between normal and hot. Constant up and down.  Could
this be my temperature sensor?

Remove it and test it, just need a pan of hot water and a meter. Check Youtube for how-to vids.

WHOOPS, darn enter key... flushing the system could've caused the thermo to become clogged or coated if the old antifrz was still in the system after you first installed the thermo or just a cheap thermo.
