2001 Chevy tracker not starting

Asked by fivelandk May 08, 2021 at 05:07 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Tracker 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have this Manual Chevy tracker that ran for
about 4 years but just shit the bed. Does anyone
have any idea how to use a computer scanner to
see if the car is making spark or power?

well, you plug it in to datalink connector. In the picture #1 is the datalink connector. #2 is the instrument cluster. The dlc is probably under the dash, close to center console, where applicable. 16 pin connector. Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while check for spark at the plugs. Also, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Those are the basic checks, in my opinion. good luck
