Smoke is defined in 3 ways #1 What smoke is vapor (water) which indicated a bad head gasket. Black smoke is Fuel essentially which means the engine is not optimal in some way. Blue smoke is oil which means you likely have bad engine rings and the days are numbered.

Anything new about smoke from your tracker. Mine does the same and I think it's evap. More than likely the little solenoid for the EVAP. What code are you reading? Like if you go to AutoZone and ask them to do a code reader
