I have a 2006 Dodge ram 1500 4x4 with a blown 4.7l engine! I just ran across a 5.7l hemi that came out of a 06 magnum will it work in my truck?

It might. At a minimum, you need a truck oil pan for the hemi and the wiring harness and computer as well.

It can be done, but there is a lot more to swap than just the engine. Also there are a lot of changes year to year with harness connectors and plugs and modules. I looked into swapping the 4.7 in my Durango, as I had access to a free Hemi. After learning everything that would need to be changed, decided against it, as it would have been cheaper to just buy a Hemi truck. Among the many things you would have to swap over: Transmission, Engine PCM, Tranny PCM, Engine mounts, Engine and Body Wiring harness, Fuse box, ABS module, Fuel lines, AC hoses, Gas pedal (to work with Hemi throttle body position sensor), Radiator, and then consider the gear ratio from a weaker 4.7 to the stronger 5.7 and decide if you need a rear end swap. 5.7 is also more weight, so also consider beefing up brakes and all that entails. Might be feasible if you have a Hemi parts truck, otherwise the swap will cost a lot of money.
