2006 Dodge 1500 5.7 l engine removal. The crank cannot be rotated to
remove the torque convertor bolts, so can I remove the engine with torque
convertor still attached to crank by sliding the engine forward?

Mark, Thanks for writing back. We don't have a hoist to remove trans mounts etc, and can't rotate the engine to remove the convertor bolts, so would like to remove the engine only with the convertor still bolted to the crank. The engine ingested water and broke a rod or piston so we can't rotate the crank now. We have a replacement engine so we can install the convertor to the trans input shaft and then bolt the convertor to the crankshaft when we install the replacement engine, but can't do that process now due to no crank rotation capability.
Wow, good idea, never would have thought of it. thanks, larry
