why is my a/c shutting on and off?

no air blows from the vents while the air is on. after driving for 5 to 10 minutes it will cut on and work fine.

more then likely you have a bad Blower Motor Resistor that is shorting out and only. I have added a picture. the question is that when you have it on heat does it do the same thing or does the fan work right away

Mine was doing the same. Lightly bump the bottom of the blower motor with your foot. Does blower then come on? Mine would. Ended up being loose connection on blower motor.

Where is the blower motor located so that I can bump it with my foot?

I purchased a new $60 blower and installed it myself 6 months ago and it is still working beautifully. It's plug and play; just three screws. Located under the passenger glove compartment. Super-easy to install yourself! My OEM blower lasted 16 years.
