my dodge ram 2500 truck will not turn over

i turn the key my truck turns over and then goes dead the battery ticks.
i put jumper cables on the battery hook it to another vehicle and let it charge it
goes over the middle line. but still wont turn over it runs the battery all the way
back down

If it turns over slowly, then the battery is run down. May be a old battery, or if you know it is good, charge it up with a battery charger. Also check the battery connections, clean them up and make sure there snugged up good.
