Can I put an automatic transmision from a V10 in my 5.9 V8?

Asked by Kfastone Feb 05, 2013 at 10:06 PM about the 1997 Dodge RAM 2500 Laramie SLT Club Cab LB 4WD

Question type: General

Is the bellhousing or the torque converter the same or are they different?

Totally different. The V10 and the Cummins diesel share the same bellhousing pattern and can be interchanged but the A518 transmission behind your 5.9 is a small block only bolt pattern.
