Is it absolutely necessary to have the air conditioner
evacuated to remove & replace the heater core ?  There
must be a way to go 'around' this requirement . Gurus ?

It was NOT EVEN CLOSE TO NECESSARY to unhook the A/C . In fact I removed & replaced the heater core w/o even opening the hood. Bought the swiveled core and watched a few different videos of guys who had done the same job. Thanks for the great advice S
