What type engine? The 4.7 is notorious for inadequate oil passages, and I don't think the 5.7 was much better. Lots of valve train noise and short lived timing chains. Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

Sounds like a timing chain broke .... On some OHC engines the valve collides with the piston
