If my 04 Dodge diesel sits for a short period of time it wont start without a little shot of starting fluid, I know thats bad, but why wont it start? Am i loosing fuel pressure or back flowing?
wont start after sitting for a short period of time.
I had the exact same problem with a Ford F-250 diesel. The problem was that I had only two of the eight glow plugs working. If I can remember right, I believe that you can check the glow plugs with a volt meter. I also had a bad relay that provides power to the glow plugs while starting the truck. I replaced all eight glow plugs not knowing how long the last two would continue to work and that is when I found out that the relay was not passing the 12 volts to the glow plugs.
wont start after sitting for a short period of time.
