Does the hi mount stop lamp come on, vs the lower stop lamps? If none of the stop lamps work, first check the stop lamp fuse, under hood fuse box. The lower stop lamps are wired through the multifunction switch/turn signal. Always check voltage and grounds. Use a test light. Could be wiring circuit issue instead of faulty component?

check the brake light actuator switch mounted on the brake pedal. Sounds to me to be faulty.
