Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For a few weeks I heard a noise that I thought was exhaust/muffler. I
went very slowly through a large puddle now there is grinding from the
rear end it feels like rear passenger tire is locked up and when I put it in
drive (all gears) the rear end Jacks up and starts a loud vibration sound.

I think your rear axle/ differential is completely shot. Don't drive it again until it is fixed!

Thank you. Also my 4wd light would come on periodically. It was on when I bought it and the prev. owner attempted to fix it but the light still comes on randomly. Could one effect the other or is that yet another problem?

Thanks again. One last thing: when looking for parts what should I ask for? I'm still not exactly sure what to focus on. The closest I can find is Differential Rebuild Kit if that's right.
