Having trouble starting my Dodge Ram 3500 any ideas?

Asked by cactustish2 Mar 04, 2015 at 03:15 PM about the 2003 Dodge RAM 3500 SLT Quad Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At first my battery needed charging but after I charged it once my truck ran fine for
about a week.  Now I try starting it and it will just not turn over.  Trying to start it runs
the battery down and I charge it again but it will not turn over.  It acts like it wants to
strart but won't.  I took the air filter off and blew it out with the air compressor, but it did
not make a difference.  I plugged in the glow plug and the yellow glow plug light went
out faster, but it still did not turn over.  What else can I try before I have to have it
towed to a repair shop? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated... Thanks

when your truck is running check output of alternator should be 14.2 14.5 somerwhere in that range if you dont have a gauge the go to advanced or auto zone they will check it for free
