2000 Chevy Cavalier Won't Start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm not the best with cars but I will try to
explain as best I can. Just last week I put a
new alternator and fuel filter in and got an
oil change. I was driving on the freeway
when i felt a small bang (thought i blew a
tire but didn't) and the car just quit. I
noticed when i pulled over the oil light came
on. I have power and the car turns over but
won't start. It doesn't seem to be locked up
at all, just won't start. I have no clue what's
wrong. The bang I felt
worries me but any tips on what to look for
would be appreciated.

Mileage? You may have a broken timing belt, but I need to look up to see if that car has a belt or chain.

OK it has a chain. So forget broken belt. Other than that it's very difficult to say not being at the car, and somebody that knows more hopefully will chip in here

Appreciate the answer. I got the chance to look at it and got it figured out. The fuel filter harness broke and blew off while i was driving. Couldn't see it last night in the dark on the side of the freeway. Pretty easy fix thankfully. Thanks for answering though.
