Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car was jumped off with key in ignition. Now it may turn over a couple times,
then die. Has code P1570 saying that the M.E. and E.I.S. no longer match. Can
i t be reprogrammed or something. Hate to say it, but the car isn't worth taking
to the dealer. Any work around you know of?

The EIS is the ignition switch. Don't know what the ME stands for but I am guessing you might have a security system problem. The P1570 is indicating the immobilizer is at work. Try another key if you have one.

Thanks for your response. Ordered new key from the dealer. Did not help. Sent Me control unit off for repair. No help. Had to get a matching EIS, ME, and steering lock from a salvage yard. Lucky I could a car. And it all started with jumping the car off with key in the EIS . Owners beware!!
