That doesn't sound totally out of range. 2500-3000 is typical but 3200 doesn't seem too far off the norm.

Yep.. 3200 sounds right. The 4 cylinder cars tend to turn more RPM than the 6 cylinder cars. Its all gearing.

that does seem a bit high to me. I have a 2002 C230k 2 dr and mine is at 3200rpm at 80mph. How many gears does yours have? and do you know the ratio? mine's 5 speed automatic
