Mercedes C Class problems

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I recently bought a 2002 C180
and last week the car key battery
went, the next day the car wouldn't
start, I turned the key and nothing, it
wasn't even turning over. A mechanic
friend said it could be the battery so I
got a new one fitted, it started
straight away so I went to get petrol
and when I started it again none of
the electrics were working!
Eventually we got the electrics
working again but now the car won't
start again! Anyone have any ideas
what it could be? There's no warning
lights on dash and when it was
running it was driving perfect.

Thank you for answering, we jump started it before the new battery and push started it after the new one was put in, the funny thing is it was starting when the lid on the fuse box was off but then wouldn't start when lid was on even though the lid hadn't trapped and wires or anything?
