got to be the fluid. Been doing anything unusual, like towing or mountain climbing with it? just check to see that is red and between the hash marks when you check the dipstick. Something has changed recently and I'm thinking that perhaps you've got a small transmission leak leading to bad performance.

no towing or mountain climbing with it but will see if the fluid is low the benz dealer said the car does not need service on transmission for this model ? I guess it is a sealed transmission I dont know enough about it. Thanks

unfortunate of them to do that to us. My MINI also has a "pemenently sealed" CVT transmission that needs oil 'cause a main bearing leak---but alas have no way of adding to this extremely pricey fluid- 2004 till now...yeah, probably 100,000 or more miles on it. 'bout time you bit the bullet and took it in, as there isn't much we can do with 'permanently sealed'...I guess if you got under your car and found the plug, you could see if there was any fluid left in there...I guess.
