I need to drive the car 3 or 4 days until I get back home, will that cause a problem?
intermittent red malfunction light:shows" battery alternator visit workshop"
The car is driving ok but sometimes with slight vibrating noise whilst idling

You might get lucky and be okay. But that is a big "if". Especially if "getting back home" is a considerable distance.
